About Jacob Thomas Austin

Jacob Thomas Austin is a writer from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His work has appeared in various fiction outlets, including, but not limited to, Ink'd Publishing, Literary Yard, The Fear House, and Bewildering Stories. In 2018, Austin’s short story “Eric Roseman’s Poem” was shortlisted for the Genre Short Story award as part of the 87th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. The story, which depicts a harrowing evening shared between two collegiate literary magazine co-presidents, took 9th place out of thousands of entries.
A lifelong Central Pennsylvania resident, Jacob Thomas Austin discovered his love of writing through his high school’s creative writing course and student newspaper club, which fostered an affinity for storytelling and expression. Later, he would cut his teeth in the craft by submitting his work to college literary magazines, earning publication each of his four years of undergraduate study. Austin’s primary literary inspirations include Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Rod Serling, and Franz Kafka.
Austin holds a BA and Master’s Degree in professional writing from Kutztown University and East Stroudsburg University, respectively. He balances writing fiction with his duties as a professional digital marketing content strategist. Currently, he resides in Lancaster County with his wife and two cats.
